Razak joined the Brazilians on a five year contract. The 30 year old has played most of his career in Portugal and Spain, with his last club being Córdoba FC.
Razak earned his first cap for Ghana on 14 August 2013, appearing in a 2–2 friendly draw in Turkey. He was part of the squad that appeared in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, being first-choice as the nation reached the final; in the decisive match, against the Ivory Coast, he missed his penalty shootout attempt in an eventual 8–9 loss.
Mamelodi Sundowns continue the defence of their African Champions League title with a quarter-final against Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in September.
