Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores winning 28th goal of season

French-born Gabonese, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a winning goal as Borussia Dortmund moved to third in the Bundesliga with a 2-1 win over Hoffenheim on Saturday.  With two matches left they take a big step towards securing a spot in next season’s Champions League group stage.

Despite missing a 15th-minute penalty, Aubameyang eventually scored with a header into the empty net after Raphael Guerreiro’s initial effort struck the post in the 82nd minute.

The irreplaceable, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored 81 goals for Borussia Dortmund. More than any other player for one single club since 2013-14.

Having dropped points with a goalless draw against FC Cologne last weekend, Dortmund needed all three points as Hoffenheim came to town in the battle for third place. Here Aubameyang posts on social media about the feeling when you’re back in Top 3.

Aubameyang has already eclipsed his career-best return of 25 goals from last season as he sits on 28 goals from just 30 appearances.
